Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Buckeye Union School District! Volunteers are an integral part of the programs on our campus. We encourage the participation of parents/guardians and other community members as volunteers in our classrooms. Once the District has confirmed clearance and completion of these three steps, you will be placed on our volunteer list. Visitation rules will apply each time you volunteer on campus. You are required to sign in at the school office and wear an identification badge issued by the school office
STEP ONE
DOJ/FBI Fingerprint Clearance

- Pick up a fingerprinting Live Scan form from your school site, district office, or click here: FINGERPRINT LIVE SCAN FORM
- Visit a local fingerprinting agency ($).
- Return completed copy of the fingerprint Live Scan Form to your school site or district office.
- The completed Live Scan form must be returned to either the school site or district office.
- Keep a copy for your records.
Please contact the fingerprint location directly to confirm the price and payment methods accepted. For more information, click here: FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT MEMO
STEP TWO
Volunteer Statement on Confidentiality

We value the contributions that parents/guardians and other community members make to our schools. We welcome volunteers in our classrooms and on our campuses.
There are times when a volunteer may see or hear something in a classroom or on campus regarding a student’s academic progress, a discipline issue, or other matters that must be kept confidential. Therefore, we ask volunteers to be aware that individual students’ information should not be discussed with anyone other than the appropriate school officials.
All volunteers must read, understand, and agree to the Volunteer Statement on Confidentiality (once per school). If you would like to learn more or have questions, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office.
By applying to be a volunteer, I agree that I have read, understand, and agree to the Volunteer Statement on Confidentiality.
STEP THREE (NEW)
Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training

Beginning July 1, 2026, California Bill (SB) 848 expands the mandated reporting requirements for school volunteers. Therefore, all volunteers (including classroom, field trips, etc.) must complete Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (annually) prior to volunteering. This is in addition to the fingerprint requirement.
BUSD has partnered with Schools Insurance Authority (SIA) to provide the Child Abuse
Mandated Reporter Training at no cost.
The training takes approximately 30 minutes and there is a required quiz at the end of
the training. You can print out the certificated for your records. You do not need to
submit the certificate to the school/district.
