Greetings and welcome to Oak Meadow and Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion! 

Welcome to Oak Meadow Elementary and the Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter School.  The Oak Meadow/BUMI school community is dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded educational experience, and I am honored to be a small part of your child’s education. 

Prior to coming to Oak Meadow/BUMI, I was a classroom teacher for over fifteen years. For the past seven years, I have worked in leadership roles at both district and site levels. As a classroom teacher, I learned firsthand the value of building strong relationships with families. As I moved into leadership positions, relationships have remained a core focus in my work with staff, families, and students. 

It is my strong belief that adult and peer connections set the foundation for students to have a positive school experience. It is with this in mind that I will strive to support the entire Oak Meadow/BUMI community. 

To our families, I believe that your involvement is an essential component of your child's academic success. The following are some ways to be involved in your child's education:

• Talk with your child every day about his or her daily school experiences
• Set high standards for the work that is performed 
• Attend and participate in school events
• Keep in close touch with the teacher and communicate, communicate, communicate
• Let us know how we can best meet the needs of your child
• Join our Oak Meadow/BUMI  School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

It is a tremendous honor to be the principal of a school with a strong reputation for excellence, and I look forward to building strong relationships with the staff and families of this great community.
