What does Montessori look like at Valley View?
Valley View Charter Montessori and the Buckeye Union School District are dedicated to providing a high quality Montessori program in a public school setting. The Montessori program is one that allows children to learn at their own pace, according to their individual needs. It is a whole child approach, focusing on the child's cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs. The Montessori classroom is at the same time disciplined and self-directed. Children are provided with hands-on materials that enable them to learn. Montessori works in a methodical way. Each step in the process leads to the next level of learning. We are a standards based program and use district assessments, evaluations, and reporting forms (i.e. progress reports and report cards).
