It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the principal of Blue Oak Elementary. I have been a part of the Buckeye Union School District for thirteen years and am so excited to continue to support Buckeye students and their families in this new role. I feel very strongly that it is our responsibility to help students develop not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and behaviorally as well. When a student struggles in any one of these areas, it often causes them to struggle in the other areas as well. I look forward to working as a team to support our Bulldogs.
Prior to this year I taught a variety of grades between Oak Meadow Elementary and Rolling Hills Middle School. I was also a part of the leadership team at Rolling Hills and most recently I was the principal of the Buckeye Distance Learning School. Much of my work as a school leader has focussed on Universal Design for Learning, Multi-Tiered System of Supports, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. These programs aim to support ALL students on campus in all areas of development. While there are many practices that have already been implemented at Blue Oak which fall under these programs, I am excited to bring my knowledge to Blue Oak and help further develop these programs.
It is my strong belief that relationships are the foundation for students to have a positive school experience. With this belief, I will strive to support the whole Blue Oak community in building strong, positive relationships. I also know parents play a large part in the success of our students. I hope we can work as a team to support our Bulldogs. If I can ever be of assistance, please feel free to call or email me.
