California Distinguished Schools Program honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Schools selected for the Distinguished School Award demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap. California Distinguished Schools were not recognized in 2022, 2015–17, and 1991. National Blue Ribbon Schools

National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Recognizing Great American Schools Since 1982. A school’s National Blue Ribbon School status does not expire. Once a school receives the award, it remains a National Blue Ribbon School. Schools, both public and non-public, may be nominated for the award only once within a five-year period. California Honor Roll Schools

Educational Results Partnership’s (ERP) Honor Roll program, is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes. The Honor Roll is the only school recognition program in the state using exclusively student achievement outcomes as the criteria and the only award given in collaboration with business leaders. Honor Roll is a growing resource for all schools to learn about best practices that increase student achievement. |
California Gold Ribbon Schools

The California Gold Ribbon (GR) Schools Program was utilized for three years in place of the California Distinguished Schools (DS) Program while California transitioned to its new assessment and accountability system, the California School Dashboard (Dashboard).
California Gold Ribbon Schools Program honors some of California's outstanding public schools. Schools that are selected demonstrate exemplary achievements in implementing state standards in priority areas. From 2015–17 California recognized schools that demonstrated exemplary achievements with the California Gold Ribbon Schools Program. You can read more about the award program HERE. |
