BUZZ WORD:  Decision – To think about the choices and pick the best one.  

VETRANS DAY:  NO SCHOOL on Tuesday (tomorrow) November 11th.

FRIENDS OF RACHEL:  Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge going!! Friends of Rachel will meet Tuesday for the last 15 minutes of each lunch period in room 16.

STUDENT NEWSPAPER: The first meeting will be on Thursday, November 13th.  Please join us in room 9 from 2:15 – 3:00.

OFFICE PASSES/PHONE USE:  All students . . . please make an important note that you must have a PASS from your teacher, including a substitute teacher, to come to the office.  This includes between periods and during lunch.  (Exceptions are made for bleeding, vomiting and extreme situations such at that!)  The office phone is available to students in emergency situations only during the school day and as needed after school.

LOST AND FOUND:  There is a large barrel located in the MP foyer for lost and found items.  Approximately once a month, lost and found will be displayed in the lunch area.  Please check as items not (found) will be donated or tossed.

6th GRADE AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK CLUB/Solutions:  6th grade students needing help in any subject are invited to attend After School Homework Club held Wednesday,
November 12th from 2:15-2:50 p.m. in room 32 with Mrs. Case.  This club is held every Wednesday with a different 6th grade teacher each week!  We look forward to seeing you there. 

INTERSESSION:  Those students who failed a class in the first trimester are required to complete the Skills Tutor on-line class.  See Mr. Shupe if you have questions.

THANKSGIVING BREAK:  There is no school from November 17 – 28.  All students return
December 1st.

ACADEMIC TALENT SEARCH:  On January 1, 2009 ATS will offer 4th through 9th grade students an academically challenging and fun classes on the campus of California State University, Sacramento (CSUS).  Since 1982, ATS has served the needs of over 31,500 young scholars in Northern California. 

To Get Involved – Take The Qualifying Exam
Forms are available in the office and library.  Forms are due to the office by
November 12th.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS:  November and December scholastic book orders are due in the library by December 5th.

STUDENT COUNCIL/REP MEETING:  Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 12th in room 5 during study period.  All study period reps should attend.  Please check in with your study period teachers first then attend the meeting.

MATH TUTORIAL:  Students needing extra help in Algebra are invited to attend math tutoring after school every Wednesday from 2:15-3:15 p.m.  Mrs. Lamb, room 23, will offer the tutoring.

YEARBOOK:  You should have received your yearbook order forms in the mail.  Questions?  See Mr. Cochran in room 12.  Don’t miss out on this great yearbook. . .ORDER YOUR BOOK NOW!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS (BOB):  BOB is a competition of reading pre-selected books between 6th,7th and 8th grade teams.  The winning team from each grade will compete against Rolling Hills.  If you are interested in BOB, bring your lunch to the first meeting in the library on November 13th during each lunch.  We need participants from all grades.

COME CELEBRATE “EL DORADO HILLS COMMUNITY NIGHT” - On November 26th as the Kings take on the New Jersey Nets!  Don’t miss New Jersey Net rookie, Oak Ridge High School and Camerado Springs alum, and El Dorado Hills own Ryan Anderson for his only visit to Sacramento this season!

As a member of the El Dorado Hills Community, the first 250 tickets purchased will include a pre-game party hosted in our V.I.P. lounge, and an EXCLUSIVE POST-GAME MEET AND GREET WITH RYAN ANDERSON!  Doors open at 5:30PM, with a 7:00PM start time to the game.

AWARDS ASSEMBLIES: This week we will honor students receiving awards for the first trimester.  Congratulations to all students for a great first trimester!

100 MERIT LUNCH:  Those students earning 100 merits in the first trimester will be treated to a delicious lunch prepared by the Camerado teachers and staff.  The 100 merit lunch is Friday, November 14th.  GREAT JOB!!
