PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Your Measure K funds continue to support the progress at Buckeye School. Two weeks ago, most of our children were glued to the fence watching the walls stand up on our new library/computer lab. The work on the district food services kitchen, on the east side of the MP, is progressing nicely. While we currently smell sawdust, I am already imagining the smell of cookies baking in preparation for student lunches. Additionally, the planning process is being completed for renovation of our fields and Multi-Purpose room. As I walk through our outdoor lunch area, it is easy to imagine a future beautifully landscaped gathering area just outside the center of our campus. Thank you for your support in funding these spectacular improvements to our campus.

As we return from the intersession break, I would like to remind you to focus on school attendance. We cannot stress enough how important it is for your children to be at school every day and on time. There is no way to duplicate the instruction that is missed when your children are absent. The law is very clear about compulsory attendance and we are required to let you know when we have concerns about your child’s tardies or absences. This can be triggered after 3 days of absences and/or 3 tardies. If your child recently received a perfect attendance award, you have reason to celebrate. You have been successful in maximizing your child’s educational opportunities.
